Fasting Day 7. JUST WATER!


I am doing my annual water fast and this means water, herbal tea and black coffee in the morning. 


I have done this kind of fast multiple times before and I am happy to be doing it again. My first water fast was more than 10 years ago. I did it in Thailand and I went for 40 days. It was in a fasting center and was medically supervised. The changes I was able to make in my lifestyle post fast were incredible. My life had changed on all levels - changed for the better!


Why do I fast? To give my body a break, to reset my metabolism and to access more mental clarity and creative juice. I find that fasting really ups my vibration - I feel lighter and more open to the Creative Muses:) 


I also fast to reduce stubborn belly fat. I am turning 45 this year and at this age this belly fat becomes an issue for many women. It's not so easy to get rid of it! 


Today I woke up after having a super vivid dream. It was like being inside a 3D movie. In this dream I was being interviewed on one of my favourite podcasts. When I opened my eyes I felt rejuvenated, full of energy and inspiration. The dream interview felt so REAL! 


At 7 am I was ready to rock my Monday and day 7 of this water fast! I totally did it! I went Live on FB/Insta and Vimeo talking about my fasting experience. It made me feel very satisfied - I was a content creator, rather than a content consumer. Yes!


Yesterday was tough though. My energy was kind of low. I was not hungry, but I was having absolutely wild mental food cravings. 


I kept on fantasizing about all the delicious food I've eaten on my recent Italian trip. All the pastas, all the flavourful sauces, different types of breads and pastries came to mind, not to mention beautiful Italian beverages! Wine! Campari Spritz! Negroni!


I started doing research on food in Perugia - this is where I am going next!  I came across a food blog on YouTube about 3 Italian guys eating their way through the most amazing places like Rome, Perugia, Bologna and Milan! It was a total S&M trip for me watching those guys!


My whole being started to cry out for some kind of flavour in my mouth and my stomach started to ramble. It became unbearable - so I cheated! I had a teaspoon of tahini (it only has salt and sesame paste. It's very fatty, no carbs, so in theory it cannot break your fast) 


The taste felt so rich - almost overwhelming. I took my time to enjoy it. Amazing how much satisfaction I got just from one spoon! I felt better and stopped researching food in Italy. (No need to torture yourself, right?) 


I am intending to go for nine days or maybe even eleven if I am feeling good.
